A picture is a mystery. A symbol, truth, a lie, poetry, emotion, an instant and eternity. A break from the world's hectic race towards the unknown.

A picture can be a part or a whole. It begs, it explores and it ritualizes. It displays the unspeakable, hell or heaven. It goes after the mind and confronts two opposite realities; it hallows the profane and soils the sacred.

There is no shadow without light, as there is no light without shadow. What can we learn from shadows in our quest for illumination?
